A 32 minute Documentary
In 1918 the Sisters of Mercy founded Villa Maria School in a large old home on 16 acres, in the country, outside of Christchurch, with 9 students. Interviewing past and present pupils and teachers, we uncover the story of what happened to the College, over the years and how it became what it is today - a thriving Secondary College of some 800 plus students.

"A highlight of the evening was the film "Caed Mile Failte - 100 Thousand Welcomes" - it was very well received and provided insights and memories from Sisters and pupils of their times at Villa. The film is a visual representation of stories from 1918 to the present day. This journey itno the past will be a valuable asset to the history of the College as it moves into the future." |
